Analyzing systems-a vital skill you need to succeed

Analyzing systems, what does that mean? It doesn’t mean being focused on technology, it means being able to breakdown and understand the process of how a task gets done. A system, is defined as a fixed path to an outcome, that is methodical in nature. If we take that definition to heart these components can be analyzed to improve the method which in turn improves output. So lets look at 3 areas where systems analysis will be critical for your performance.

  1. Supply chain management

Supply chain management is essentially the logistics of production. If X is used at this amount, we are able to produce A, but if we use Y then we are able to produce B. Supply chain management literally maps the production cycle of goods and attempts to extract maximum value. In this sense your systems analysis is going to be more numerical. In these instances building a strong foundation of data analytics to help quantify production is instrumental be being able to perform any type of analysis.

2. Management

As a manager, you are going to manage your teams work output. You will need to delegate and create a system of how to disperse work. To do this you will need more qualitative information as well as quantitative information. The qualitative information you need are things like what types of skills…
