Why you can’t relax

In todays hustle society it is extremely hard to relax. You may find that you hop into a hot tub or get a massage, but you don’t always come out feeling totally refreshed. You may even take a nap only to find yourself more tired than before. What you are feeling is the inability to relax. So lets look at 5 different facets that can challenge your ability to relax and what you can do about it.

  1. Hustle culture

Hustle culture gives the perception that everyone is working to make more money and that if you aren’t working you are a loser. If you take a break then you are weak. The reality is that everyone needs breaks, without breaks you would fall into destructive habits that would really get in the way of your ability to live the life you want. Everyone’s hustle is going to look different, but what doesn’t change is that you are always going to be working on something so when you can take break, relax and enjoy it because chances are you deserve it.

2. Not being present

It is important to be in the moment when you are taking a break. Think of the people who are working out in the gym to relax. The people who get the most out of it are the ones who are focused on what they are doing in the moment. They aren’t thinking about tomorrow or later today, they are focused on right now. If you aren’t present your mind will fill with anxieties…
