Why your life is boring

In life you may run into periods of boredom or stagnation. Things feel too routine and you find that you lack motivation. Every day feels the same no matter if its a work day or a weekend. These are all signs that you are bored of life or that things are too much of a routine. When you fall into this rut you need to bounce back, so lets look at 5 things that can get you stuck in life with boredom and how you can overcome them.
- Lack of fulfillment
Many find that they lack fulfillment in life. They find that their job provides them with no meaning and the things they do outside don’t bring them joy. This is more common than you think as most people don’t believe their job gives them purpose after all the most common place to find people who find purpose at work are people who love their jobs. People who are just in a job to pay the bills are going to feel much less fulfillment. If you are looking to bring fulfillment to your life a good place to start is by indulging in your hobbies and passions outside of work. Yes you need to work to pay bills, but you need to make the most of your time outside of work. If you don’t you are either going to find that all you can think about is work or there is no other facet to you aside from work. Everyone has hobbies and passions, great sources to start with are your hobbies and passions as a child. It can light a spark to bring joy to your life,
2. Lack of spontaneous encounters
Spontaneous moments are the ones that stand out in our mind because they are so unusual. When things are too routine, our minds tend to autopilot and we stop being engaged. When we aren’t engaged we don’t pay attention to the little things that bring us joy. The bagel that you have before work or the flashing neon sign advertising the latest movie on the side of the free way. The best way to alleviate this is to make life spontaneous. A good reference of this is from the TV show Big Bang Theory where the characters have “anything can happen Thursday” a day to dive into the most random things they see. This approach can be applied to your life as much as possible to spice up your day or week. While it may be more challenging if you have children there are still ways to be spontaneous such as random gestures of love to cooking someone their favorite meal mid-week.
